Code of Conduct

DUUXS users agree to the Code of Conduct. We know you will read these but we also added some short highlights down the side to try and make things a little more interesting.

1 Introduction

DUUXS has a Code of Conduct for both Hosts and Explorers.

It exists to help everyone feel respected, comfortable, and confident about taking part.

Nothing fancy here. Just a few expectations so everyone has a good time.

2 Explorer Code of Conduct

DUUXS connects Explorers with local Hosts worldwide who offer authentic experiences and cultural exchange.

To help ensure positive and respectful experiences for everyone, Explorers are expected to:

  • Treat Hosts with respect and professionalism.
  • Avoid behaviour that is offensive, aggressive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or sexually inappropriate.
  • Communicate openly with Hosts to sort out logistics such as meeting points or timing.
  • Respect local customs, laws, and community norms.
  • Use the DUUXS platform to connect and discover Experiences. Since DUUXS does not charge booking commissions, Hosts and Explorers are free to connect on or off the platform if they both choose.

Be a good human.

Talk things through, show respect, and enjoy the experience.

3 Host Code of Conduct

DUUXS Hosts are expected to follow the DUUXS Host Code of Conduct.

It sets out both quality standards and basic requirements for hosting Experiences on the platform.

Hosts set the tone.

This section covers how we look after Explorers, and each other.

I.Quality Standards

Host quality at DUUXS is defined by the following standards:

These are the things that turn a good Experience into a memorable one.

4 Passion

Passionate Hosts are at the heart of DUUXS. Explorers choose Experiences led by people who genuinely care about the topic, have a personal connection to it, and know it well.

As a Host, this means:

  • Knowing your topic in depth and preparing thoughtfully.
  • Being fully present during the Experience, including minimising distractions.
  • Being open to feedback from Explorers and DUUXS.

If you love what you’re sharing, it shows.

If you don’t, that shows too.

5 Authenticity

DUUXS Hosts share the real character of their location by offering Experiences that feel genuine and personal.

This means bringing your own perspective, opening doors to places or insights Explorers wouldn’t easily find on their own, and delivering the kind of Experience you’d hope for yourself.

Share what’s real, not what’s rehearsed.

6 Connection

Connecting people and cultures is central to DUUXS.

Hosts are expected to engage thoughtfully with Explorers throughout their experience.

Before the Experience

  • Be available to answer questions and help Explorers feel confident in their choice.
  • Clearly communicate any changes to plans and make sure everyone is comfortable with them.

During the Experience

  • Be attentive to the needs of your group, including age, ability, and cultural differences.
  • Communicate in a way that helps everyone feel included and engaged.

After the Experience

  • A short follow-up or shared tips can add lasting value.
  • Connections can continue on DUUXS if both sides wish.

Connection is about paying attention.

Before, during, and after all matter.

II. Hosting requirements

The following are minimum standards that Hosts must meet to maintain a DUUXS profile.

Breaches of these requirements may result in a performance breach and can lead to removal from the platform.

This is where expectations become requirements.

These are the lines that keep everyone safe and treated fairly.

7 Professionalism

Hosts are required to meet the following professional standards:

  • Be available and reachable by Explorers and DUUXS, particularly around bookings or time-sensitive matters.
  • Present yourself appropriately and maintain basic hygiene standards.
  • Communicate with Explorers and DUUXS in a polite and respectful manner.
  • Honour booking commitments. While unforeseen circumstances can arise, being late, cancelling, or failing to attend without informing Explorers and without a valid reason is not acceptable.
  • Avoid inappropriate behaviour during an Experience.

This is about reliability, respect, and showing up properly.

8 Representing the DUUXS Community

DUUXS Hosts represent the wider DUUXS community and are expected to act accordingly.

Hosts are required to:

  • Be transparent about group sizes. Experiences do not need to be private, but Explorers must know in advance how many people will be attending.
  • Personally lead all booked Experiences. Substituting another person is not permitted.
  • Raise complaints or concerns about DUUXS directly with the DUUXS team, rather than expressing them in front of Explorers or on public platforms.
  • Be mindful of your public and online presence and how it reflects on the DUUXS community.
  • Use the DUUXS platform genuinely to promote your profile and offer Experiences.
  • Interact with Explorers calmly, impartially, and with a service mindset.
  • Agree pricing in advance and not solicit tips during an Experience.
    • As DUUXS does not charge booking commissions, Hosts and Explorers are free to connect on or off the platform if they both choose.

You’re part of a community, not just running an Experience.

How you show up matters.

9 Safety

Hosts are required to maintain high standards of safety and security when providing Experiences. The following requirements apply:

  • Assess activities for potential risks and avoid unsafe situations.
  • Inform Explorers of relevant safety procedures where appropriate, and be aware of emergency contacts and nearby medical facilities.
  • Never be intoxicated during an Experience. Alcohol consumption is only permitted where it forms part of the Experience for Explorers.
  • Never purchase or provide alcohol to a minor.
  • Possession or use of illegal drugs during an Experience will result in immediate removal from the platform.
  • Any emotional or intimate involvement with an Explorer, whether actual or perceived, will result in immediate removal from the platform. Hosts are in a position of trust and must act accordingly at all times.
  • Never enter an Explorer’s accommodation.

Safety comes first.

These rules protect everyone involved.
